Vega LLC · New York City area high-tech startup · Founder-led

Somebody had to build the missing middle of AI. Vega is building it.

  • Local when it's good enough.
  • Cloud when it counts.
  • Receipts either way.

Vega Router keeps routine AI work on your Mac, rents a frontier cloud model only when it counts, and leaves a receipt for every decision. Anyone running local and cloud models has felt the gap; Vega built v1 in a week. That is how we work on every hard problem — yours included.

Vega Router · Evidence-grade AI plumbing

Local when it's good enough. Cloud when it counts. Receipts either way.

  • v1 running daily
  • 24-agent adversarial review of v1 · every finding fixed
  • Open-core planned · fall 2026

The missing middle is a well-known gap: sending each piece of work to the right model — the one on your Mac or the one in the cloud — is still a do-it-yourself project, and almost nothing tells you what your hybrid setup actually costs or whether the cheap answer held up. We hit it ourselves, running local and cloud models side by side on one Mac, and built v1 in a week. It is not an AI guessing the perfect model. It is a policy you can read, a cheap route made safe enough to trust, and evidence for the times it wasn't.

Local lane · your Mac

Routine work stays home

Open models running on your own Apple Silicon Mac. The routine majority of work lands here and comes back fast. No network hop. No meter.

Vega Router

Rules you can read, not guesses

A written policy decides where each piece of work goes — plain language you can open, read, and change. Nothing is scored by a model that might quietly guess wrong, and the reason for every decision is on the receipt. It works alongside the tools you already use.

  • Written down, not learned
  • Yours to read and change
  • Overridden by you, never by a file
  • Explained on every receipt

Cloud lane · frontier

The hard part, on purpose

The largest models, for the work that earns them — the hard minority that genuinely needs them. A choice you made is honored exactly, never quietly changed, and everything that runs here leaves a receipt.

What a receipt answers

Where did it run?
your Mac or the cloud — and why
What did it cost?
time and money, per request
Did it hold up?
whether the cheap route was good enough
What did I write?
never logged

Dispatch Desk · in design · split plan

Split plans: the private part stays home, only the hard part goes out

Dispatch Desk, the native Mac app now in design, is meant to show you the plan before anything runs — what would stay on the Mac, what would go out, and what it would cost — and to run it only on your say-so. Picture a 40-page PDF and a legal-grade memo to write from it: the plan would keep the PDF on the Mac and send out only what the memo needs.

  1. Would stay home The document
  2. Would go out Only what the memo needs
  3. Would come back The memo

Promises · what you can hold us to

01

Private by default

Local is the default. Work moves to the cloud only when you send it there — and only you can send it.

02

No surprise spend

The router never auto-spends. Anything that would cost money waits for your call. Money moves only when you decided it should, and the receipt shows exactly which work earned it.

03

Evidence when the cheap route was wrong

Routing up wastes money you can see. Routing down gives you a worse answer you don't. Quality signals ride on every receipt, so “local was good enough” is a claim you can check instead of take on faith.

04

Nothing captive

Your project notes and standing instructions stay yours, readable by any model or tool, so the work comes with you when a better model ships. Nothing is held hostage.

This is how Vega builds: rules you can read, evidence you can check. Want Vega Router on your Mac before the open-core release — or this kind of rigor on your own hard problem?

Where it stands: v1 runs daily on the founder's M4 Max; Dispatch Desk, the native Mac app, is in design; the open-core release is planned for fall 2026. Early access is a conversation, not an order form.

Products in the field

Software shaped around real workflows.

Four products in the field today. From back-office lifecycle tools to AI-assisted operator software, Vega builds focused products where generic software is too slow, too rigid, or too detached from how the work actually happens.

AI-native macOS tooling

AI-Term

A native Mac application for people who live close to the command line. AI-Term brings AI-assisted command, project context, and workflow execution into a focused desktop tool for technical operators.

Precision field software

BallisticTracker

A precision software product for calculation, tracking, range-session workflows, and field decision support. BallisticTracker reflects Vega's focus on making specialized knowledge easier to use when timing and accuracy matter.

Business workflow automation

ExpenseOnTheGo

A mobile expense-management application for recording, preserving, and submitting expense transactions. It helps modernize personal, small-business, and corporate expense workflows without adding unnecessary complexity.

Consumer AI vision

PalmScan AI

An entertainment product with serious machinery underneath. Vision AI reads the actual lines and mounts in a photograph of your hand, then writes a seven-chapter reading from what it finds there. Nothing to install and no account to create: the photo is captured in the browser and sent to the AI provider for the reading; PalmScan's privacy policy is that it is never saved. About thirty seconds from snap to story.

About Vega LLC

Independent, nimble, and built for vital workflows.

Vega LLC is a high-tech startup organization headquartered in the New York City area. We are independently owned and built to accommodate a number of vertical industries where daily operations depend on reliable software.

Our roots are in back-office applications because that is where the health of an organization often becomes visible. As our founder says, "You can make as much money as you want, but if you cannot control where it goes, you will never succeed."

Vega focuses on quality, robust, user-friendly products that deliver long-term business value on terms that make modernization accessible.

01

Expense Management

ExpenseOnTheGo helps individuals, business owners, and corporations record, preserve, and submit expense transactions from mobile workflows. Personal and professional versions support a cleaner, more convenient way to digitize expense processes.
